Interview with Kate Ainger
Q: What is your favorite shoot you've ever done?
A: I loved using my Sol45 on the Cote D’Azur this year, as it captured the stunning Mediterranean light perfectly. It is always my first choice lens for our family holidays as I love the hazy-memory feel it creates.
Q: What inspires you to reach for your camera? How often do you reach for your camera?
Q: What are your favorite Lensbaby Lenses to use in your session?
A: Sol45 - for the reasons mentioned already. I also have the Edge50 and the Omni filters (plus expansion colour pack)
Q: How did you hear about Lensbaby, and what encouraged you to purchase a LB lens?
A: I love the work created by so many of the LB ambassadors - Annick Paradis, Nancy Magnus, Abi Coop, Regina Boston (to name just a few). I’m desperate to experiment with more Lensbabies and my dream is to become an ambassador one day too.
Q:What was your journey to becoming a photographer like?
A: Long! I picked up my first DSLR in 2009. I’ve loved it more and more each year. It has become my driving passion. It unites the lawyer in me with the actress - the need to follow rules with a desire to create.
Q: What is your favorite subject to photograph and how would you describe your photography style?
A: My kids. I aim for colour, emotion and storytelling in my images.
Q: What do you love the most about photography?
A: I love recording the small moments in our everyday lives - the unimportant fleeting seconds that matter. I also find creating art intensely satisfying and uplifting.
Q: What helps you when you're struggling with a creative block?
A: Scrolling through the work of artists I admire. Going back to courses I have taken and rereading my notes. Setting myself new personal projects.

Q: Would you consider yourself an adventurous photographer, or do you tend to stay in your comfort zone?
A: I love challenging myself. My work has grown hugely in the last year or so due to becoming a member of the fabulous Light Communion Circle.
Q: What else would you like to see from Lensbaby in the future?
A: Direct sale to UK customers, without the exorbitant shipping costs.
